The 22nd of August 2019 saw the end of the qualification stage of the II International Contest of Theatre Puppets' Creators ANIMATUS with 25 applications. Artists from Poland and abroad fought for the chance of artistic residency in The Puppet and Actor Theatre “Kubuś” in Kielce, Poland as well as a financial reward of 1100 euro. Such large frequency shows that the idea of a project searching for original forms in puppeteering using ever newer technologies is needed.
Our jury consisting of: Katarzyna Proniewska- Mazurek, Marek Waszkiel and Piotr Tetlak chose 13 applications for the next stage of the competition. The names of the chosen candidates are listed below:

The chosen candidates will meet with the jury on the 6th of September to discuss their ideas. Of the thirteen fortunates the jury will choose 3 laureates who will receive the chance to realize their project and present it during the projects final on the 15-17th of November 2019 in the form of a theatrical etude.

The "Animatus" competition is realized by the "Kubuś" Puppet and Actor Theater. Project co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland and the Mayor of Kielce. The President of Kielce, Bogdan Wenta, took honorary patronage of the event.
